Wrapor is a small, family ran business, offering exclusive, high quality designs. Each one of our unique styles, is handcrafted in the UK, from an extensive range of the finest fabrics, from silk to faux fur.
We offer a complete bespoke service, each one is cut, sewn and hand finished, to each customers, own specifications.
Our sizes range from a size 8, up to a size 30, as we like to ensure that everyone is catered for.
We offer a free fabric swatch service, where samples of your chosen fabrics, are presented in a booklet, this allows you to check the fabric, before making your commitment to buy.
How It Began
After gaining 20 years experience as a bridal wear seamstress. Kay McEllin has gained plenty of knowledge on how to dress to impress.
“I loved working with brides to be on a day to day basis I noticed that during their fittings, ladies would often request some kind of garment to cover to upper arms and shoulders, they would like to idea of a traditional wrap, but after struggling to keep it in place they would often end up tying the wrap in a knot at the back. This looked Ok from the front, but uncomfortable and unsightly from the back, plus the tails cover up detail on the back of the gown and it would still fall down!”
In May 2007 a friend asked Kay if she would make her some sort of wrap to cover a small tattoo on her shoulder on her wedding day, she wanted it to stay in place, but didn’t want a “frumpy bolero!” After several attempts the “Wrapor shrug” was born. The shrug was exactly what Kelly wanted, she wore the creation all day and into the evening and received so many compliments – she absolutely loved it! This gave Kay the idea, that other brides would like it too!
Two years later Wrapor remains a small family run business with a strong customer focus, Kay answers all the enquiries herself, so queries are dealt with quickly, on a one to one basis.
The shrugs are all made to order from a huge choice of fabrics and colours from silk to faux fur, they offer coverage but won’t distract from the dress. The design looks great on a size 8 to a size 30, the shrug will look like it came with your dress, it will stay on and look fabulous!
